Commission Directive 2004/4/EC

Commission Directive 96/3/EC grants a derogation from certain provisions of Council Directive 93/43/EC on the hygiene of foodstuffs with regard to the transport of bulk liquids and fats by sea.  The Directive includes a list of Acceptable Previous Cargoes and provides for the list to amended as appropriate.

On 22 January 2004 the Commission published Commission Directive 2004/4/EC in the Official Journal of the European Union, under which the EU list of Acceptable Previous Cargoes was amended with effect from 1 June 2004. 

The following cargoes are added to the List:

Acetic anhydride

Ammonium polyphosphate

Propylene tetramer

Propyl alcohol

Sodium silicate

The following cargoes are removed from the list:

Cyclohexanol

2,3-butanediol

iso-butanol

Nonane

The following cargoes will remain on the list but be subject to review. 

iso-decanol

iso-octanol

iso-nonanol

Montan wax

Paraffin wax

White mineral oil
